Xccess decided to launch a pilot game-based CODING project at Koekenaap Primary School, Matzikama Region, Western Cape.
The Reason for the project was to create a culture of algorithmic thinking, to break down more complex actions into a sequence or instructions and computational thinking, focusing on problems and their solutions.
Xccess would like to thank Mr Edward Cloete (Principal) for his hospitality and that he was able to buy into the vision Xccess has for Koekenaap Primary School and all the other disadvantage schools in the Matzikama Region.
Innovation, Collaboration and Critical Thinking will become the new normal in the post-covid Era. Those who can’t see it coming or are too slow to adapt will simply fall behind.
Today the critical skills that the 21st century require from us, was instilled in our youth from Koekenaap. The benefits that this Tanks game-based learning provides to these kids are:
Creativity / Emotional Intelligence / Critical Thinking / Active Learning with a growth mindset / Collaboration and Logical Problem Solving.
The Longer we withhold our poorer communities in the Matzikama Region from the opportunities of tomorrow, the more the inequality gap amongst our youth will increase, the more unemployment will escalate and the devastating social issues and impacts will rise.
We need to groom a new Generation of Innovators, Problem Solvers and Solutionist thinkers.
LET US STOP THE TENDENCY OF JUST TALKING and LETS WALK THE TALK
